2nd (virtual) project meeting, 14th - 15th January 2021

The partners of the project “Let’s warm up the climate for sport” met virtually for the Milestone
2 of the Sustaina-bility Roadmap for Skills: “let’s warm up to cool the climate”, during which
the Partner Organizations kept on working on the specific environmental issues identified in the
previous project phases, con-cluding that climate change and the carbon footprint, along
with the waste generation during sport events and in general during sport practice, as well as
air and ocean pollution, are the most relevant environmental issues that can be leveraged to
engage and motivate, especially inactive people, to practice more sport or be more
physically active. Originally planned to take place in Sofia (Bulgaria), at the end of September
2020, it’s been held in video-conferencing due to the persisting covid-19 Emergency, Thursday
14 and Friday 15 January 2021 (download press release)

(virtual) Kick-off meeting, 12th - 13th September 2020

Within the framework of the ERASMUS + European Projects, EquiS Equilibri Sostenible, a non-
profit association based in Barcelona and a member of Barcelona + Sostenible, is the project
coordinator. The kick-off meeting was held on September 12th and 13th, 2020, with the
participation of members from the following Organizations: Darko Athletics Team (Bulgaria),
International Olimpic Truce Center (Greece) and the Universitatea Dunarea de Jos Din Galati
(Romania). The proejct originates from the belief that the values incorporated in the effort to
preserve natural and cultural heritage and promote environmental sustainability, can help
develop new skills that benefit all those professionals involved in physical activity and sports
practice in different dimensions, especially with regard to promoting the participation of
inactive people, in a new conceptual framework (download press release)
